Holiday Cottage Description
Harriet’s Cottage is a wonderful Yorkshire Dales holiday cottage, in a secluded spot next to Lilac Cottage in the centre of the tranquil village of Muker in Swaledale. It is in a slightly elevated area of the village, which gives the holiday cottage some fantastic views of Swaledale and beyond.
Harriet’s Cottage was fully restored to a Visit England 4 Star standard during 2002. During the restoration double glazing was added and oil fuelled central heating was installed throughout the entire holiday cottage, each radiator is individually controlled to keep you toasty during the winter months.
The pine beams are the original features of the cottage and add greatly to the character as does the traditional décor and furnishings. To us one of the most attractive elements of this dales holiday cottage is that from each room you have stunning views of the dale to the south.
Harriet’s Cottage has a welcoming ambience as you enter the holiday cottage into the entrance hall, the traditional stone flagged flooring leads you through to a delightful living room which is cosy and relaxing at any time of the year with its open fire place, pine features and a sofa.
The kitchen diner is fully equipped with all you should need on your holiday, with plenty of storage, and a dining table which is perfect for enjoying each other’s company and the beautiful views. To the rear of the kitchen is a lobby providing extra storage for coats and boots etc. It is also through the lobby you can gain access the backdoor to the parking at the rear of the holiday cottage.
Harriet’s Cottage is also lucky to have a colourful garden with uninterrupted views of the fells overlooking the village and is a fantastic place to unwind after an active day. You can dine alfresco on a warm summer’s evening, whilst enjoying a barbeque.
It is a fantastic dales holiday cottage for couples, a small family or group of friends, if larger accommodation is required, the neighbouring dales holiday cottage, Lilac Cottage, can be booked with Harriet’s Cottage to provide accommodation for up to 6 people.
To ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible all bed linen and towels are provided, electric is included in the rental price and two bags of coal are supplied for use on the open fire.
