Low Row, Reeth, Swaledale, North Yorkshire, DL11 6NE.
Self catering holiday cottage for up to 10 people in Low Row, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Ideal village location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales
East Paradise Cottage is ideally located for exploring Swaledale, one of the least spoilt Yorkshire Dales with its flower meadows and stone barns, as well as the surrounding area including Arkengarthdale, Wensleydale and the Upper Eden Valley.
The cottage was originally 3 traditional buildings which have been renovated to provide a spacious dettached property. The cottage is part of the property known as Paradise, which possibly takes its name from the hay meadows below the house. A dwelling was recorded as having been here since the eleventh century. The back section of the cottage bears the initials IP and the date 1791. The front and middle sections are later additions. The front part of the cottage was used as a dwelling but fell into derliction in the latter part of the nineteenth century during the decline of the lead industry. The rear sections were used as stabling in the period when the main house was being used as a wollen mill.
Just a short walk from the cottage, the village pub, The Punch Bowl, has been re-developed and offers superb food, excellent ale and great hospitality. The nearby market town of Reeth offers tea shops, pubs, a Post Office and gift shops, whilst Richmond and Hawes offer a wider variety for all of your holiday needs.
