Charlie's Stable

Reeth, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6SQ.

Self catering holiday cottage for 2 people in Reeth situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Ideal village location

Charlie's Stable is situated at the end of a private road just three minutes walk from the village green in Reeth.  Although convieniently close to the the village centre, the cottage feels a world away in this cosy setting.  Charlie's Stable was converted to maintain original features and to introduce character and individual beauty to this stone-built cottage.  Charlie was the last horse to be housed in this stable.  He pulled an Irish jaunting car for the Burton family between their hydroelectric stations in Askrigg and Reeth.

It is easy to enjoy a number of outdoor activities in Swaledale, from walking to mountain biking (e.g. Dales Bike Centre in nearby Fremington). Swaledale is the most northerly dale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Reeth has a number of pubs and restuarants for that special meal, shops, post office, bakery, ice cream parlour, tea rooms, photo gallery and a weekly farmers market.

The ancient market town of Richmond is within easy reach, steeped in history and boasts an 11th Century Norman Castle, Georgian Theatre, swimming pool, cinema, shops, pubs and restaurants. Leyburn is also near by with a further variety of shops, and other local attractions.
