Ideal village location
Stonecroft is a traditional style Yorkshire Dales cottage created from the Richard III inn's coach house; much of its stone would have been 'reclaimed' from the castle's ruins. Stonecroft is quietly situated in a cobbled lane, just off the Market Square in the historic Wensleydale town of Middleham, with its shops, cafes, pubs, and Middleham Castle. This lovely, restored, traditional 18th Century Dales cottage provides comfortable accommodation with private parking - ideally situated for exploring this interesting and beautiful area whether by car or on foot.
Stonecroft is warm and welcoming and offers a high standard of holiday accommodation, whilst still retaining much character, including exposed beams in all rooms. The period oak furnishings and subtle concealed lighting have been carefully selected to make your stay cosy and comfortable. Tastefully and traditionally furnished throughout with a multi fuel stove in the cosy sitting room providing a delightful place in which to relax after a day out in the fantastic Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is not suitable for young children but Stonecroft welcomes children from the age of twelve years.

Ground Floor
The ground fllow accommodation comprises a kitchen diner and living room, as well as access to the first floor. Central heating, if needed, is provided by a multi-fuel stove set in an inglenook fireplace. Night storage heaters maintain a comfortable, ambient temperature throughout the year. The water tank is heated by off-peak electricity.
Kitchen
The spacious dining kitchen has all the essentials, including electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, filter coffee maker, auto washing machine, tumble dryer and CD/Cassette/Radio Tuner and TV.
Living Room
The living room provides a cosy space to relax, with reclining sofa and rocking chair, and a flatscreen Freesat TV and blueray DVD.
First Floor
On the first floor there are two double-bedded bedrooms, and a family bathroom .
Bedrooms
There are two double bedded bedrooms, both retaining the character of this lovely old cottage with beamed ceilings and lots of period furniture. One of the bedrooms is particularly spacious and overlooks the roof tops into Wensleydale and also has a TV.
Bathroom
The modern bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.
Garden
There is a small, south-facing patio area on which are container-grown shrubs and plants.

Short Breaks (SB)
Short Breaks are sometimes offered for 3 nights. These are usually Friday, Saturday and Sunday, or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, but days are flexible, so please do contact us to see if your request can be accommodated! You'll be glad to know that we do not charge a booking fee! Short Break rates are as shown in the following table:
