The 2010 British Wildlife Photography Awards is an annual celebration of photography.  This years winner was Steve Young with his stunning 'Herring Gull in Wave'.  Yorkshire based Simon Philpotts from Leyburn was highly commended in the animal portrait category - you may have seen Simon displaying his outstanding photos as Yorkshire's many fairs and festivals (e.g. Muker and Wensleydale).

The good news is that the awards also go on tour to showcase the winning photos, and the second stop on the tour is the National Trust's Nunnington Hall near the North York Moors.  The exhibition is on weekends from 6th November until 19th December 2010.
