2011 British Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships
This year the 2011 British Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships comes to Richmond, North Yorkshire, 16-17th July 2011. The BC XC championship is one of the biggest prizes going in the UK and as such promises a good turn pout of top riders.
The Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area provides a great place for cycling, be it mountain biking, road cycling or just a leisurely tootle around. Free smartphone app launched by Yorkshire Dales National ParkThe Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has developed a free smartphone app designed to help you get the most out of a visit to the National Park. It is initially based around Malham and Hawes and there are points of interest for you to find around the area; a selection of walking and cycling trails to get you out into the countryside and background information on other outdoor activities you might like to try. The Swaledale Festival 2011 (28 May - 11 June) offers a range of concerts in chapels, churches, village halls, pubs, castles and barns, and guided walks in the fantastic scenery of the northern Yorkshire Dales.
