Wainwright's Walks in Swaledale
If you've been watching the BBC programme Wainwright's Walks and admiring the stunning scenery and local villages, you'll be pleased to know that Holiday Home Yorkshire's cottages are in the heart of some of the areas shown in the programme.
Alfred Wainwright was one of Britain's greatest fell walkers who became famous for writing about some of the best walks in the UK. While most of Wainwright's walks are in the Lake District, our holiday cottages are all located in North Yorkshire's Swaledale and Arkengarth areas, which were featured on the BBC programme.

In fact, one episode sees the presenter Julia Bradbury, walking directly behind a few of our houses (Sandpiper and Birdsnest) to an abandoned Lead Smelting Mill which is on the route of one of Wainwright's famous walks. The same walk takes you over heath and heather strewn hill tops, down to the wonderfully quaint village of Gunnerside with its criss-crossing stone walls.
All of our houses are within short driving distance of these walks and sights, so no matter which you choose to stay in, you can enjoy the natural beauty and great outdoors seen on TV. And guess what, Swaledale's even better in person!
Please come and see this in person by enjoying a relaxing break away in an area near some of Wainwright's walks enjoying the comforts of Holiday Home Yorkshire's holiday cottages.
