Accomodation Description

Bridge View Cottage is a cosy bolt hole for two in the quiet, picturesque village of Gunnerside in Swaledale. It is the perfect base from which to explore the gorgeous, unspoilt Yorkshire Dales countryside or to simply getaway and relax on a romantic break.

This holiday home is bright and cheerful having recently undergone a full renovation to provide a modern and luxurious Dales holiday cottage. The thoughtful alterations have retained much of the original features such as the exposed stonework and roof trusses and reclaimed floor boards.

This Swaledale holiday cottage offers a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area upstairs with the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Heating is provided throughout via modern electric storage heaters and a multi-fuel stove in the living area. The kitchen is packed full of a host of quality pots and pans and kitchen utensils for use during your stay. The cosy bedroom has a double bed, soft bedding and fitted wardrobe. The bathroom, beautiful decorated with calming colours, has an attractive roll top bath with shower over – the perfect place to unwind and soak after a strenuous hike up one of our local fells.

The cottage is a real suntrap in the summer months. The sun oozes through the windows which is a great start to any day! Your morning coffee can be enjoyed from indoors or outside from the small front garden bench overlooking the village with the not too distant bubble of the Gunnerside Beck.

Your fury friend can come too as this is one of our dog friendly holiday cottages, and can accommodate one  well behaved dog. Your dog will love it here; there are numerous walks straight from the door and a very dog friendly pub a stone’s throw away from the cottage.

Parking is on a first come first served basis in the village, but often parking is available immediately outside the holiday home. In the village you will find two fantastic eateries. The Kings Head serves really good pub food for lunch and dinner and of course Yorkshire’s famous Black Sheep. A roaring fire and warm welcome await you. Ghyll Foot Tea Rooms and bistro serves lunches and teas all day, dinners 2 evenings a week and a cracking Sunday lunch, followed by Bob’s famous desserts.

3 miles west you will find the beautiful village of Muker, with the Farmers Arms, tea rooms, village shop, art gallery and Swaledale Woollens, for all your winter woollies. Whilst nearby Reeth offers a host of pubs, shops, cafes, galleries and a post office.

To ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible all bed linen and towels are provided and your initial supply of fuel for the fire and electric is included in the rental price.

Great little cottage for the base of our walking week end in Swaledale. Very cosy, log burner to come home to, pub across the road, Cafe on the corner. Great find. We visited Keld Waterfalls, about 15 minute drive away, lots of walks on the doorstep also.
The Kings Head Pub was fab, happy hour on a Friday, 6 to 7 and even the Chippy Van arrived at 7.30 serving fab fish n chips.
Our hosts had left logs and kindling to start the fire off, we did run out but luckily we had brought some of our own and plenty of places to purchase more if needed.
This is a great place for enjoying the Yorkshire Dales, a great community atmosphere and getting away to enjoy the lovely country air and beautiful surroundings.

A beautiful cosy cottage in the heart of swaledale, perfect for walking, sightseeing or just relaxing in the dales.
