  1. John

A fantastic location with a great house and a friendly & supportive owner. Couldn’t have asked for more. Oh, better not forget the cake on arrival. It’s now achieving legendary status along with the vase of fresh flowers

  2. Lesley

We really enjoyed our short 3 night stay in Keld, Richmond. Swaledale is a lovely part of the country and an interesting area to see. We visited Muker for Sunday lunch, Hawes to visit the creamery, Hardraw to see the force, Aysgarth to walk the triple flight of waterfalls and had dinner one evening at Keld Lodge, which is walking distance from Rose Cottage – all great. Rose Cottage is perfect, lots of thoughtful touches, very clean and a perfect place to be based to visit this part of Yorkshire. Alison the owner is a perfect host too. Think we will be back!

  3. Barbro

The moment we walked into Rose Cottage we all fell in love with it! The coziness, the decor, the fully equipped kitchen, the wood burner in the kitchen/dining area, the gas burner in the lounge, the super comfy beds, huge warm bathroom….all of it made us feel at home and welcomed. The tasty tea bread, baked by Alison, was consumed with great pleasure.
Set in the tiny hamlet of Keld this cottage became the center for multiple walks on the Pennine Way and the Coast to Coast Path. A nice little 2.2 mile walk up and over the hills down to Muker and a wonderful pub, The Farmer’s Arms, provided some lively entertainment. The pub served all gluten free pub food, which was delicious. Keld itself has quite a history which was interesting to read about.
Alison and Ray were very attentive hosts, making sure we had everything we needed. Quite lovely folks.
We have already discussed a return visit next year for a longer stay.

  4. Donna

Thank you Alison for the gorgeous cake and flowers on arrival . Rose cottage is an absolute pleasure to holiday in , our stay was comfortable and most relaxing .Rose cottage is perfectly equipped with all essentials we needed . The scenery around was magnificent we didn’t want to leave thank you for a very enjoyable holiday and we hope to return in the future .Donna and Shaun 😁😎😁

  5. Ralph

The cottage had every thing needed for a pleasant and comfortable holiday, it is clean and well presented with modern up to date furniture.
The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful, lovely walks and waterfalls, and within travelling distance to many historical attractions.
Be aware that the roads in the area are narrow and twisty, but don’t be put off by this as the scenery is worth the visit.

  6. Robert

Couldn’t fault this property – very comfortable and clean with good facilities. Very pleasant sitting on the patio in the evening sun.
Very quiet location. Recommend The Keld Lodge for eating out. We stayed over a bank holiday and everywhere in Swaledale seemed to be booked up for evening food with Kirkby Stephens and Hawes being the nearest place to get supplies.

  7. Jane

Delightful cottage embedded in the hillside. Wildlife coming right up to the sitting room window. Great walks, waterfalls and pubs close by.

  8. Peter

Had very nice stay but too short. We’ll be back!

  9. Susan

This cottage was very homely. It had everything you needed and more. It was very clean, had a lovely outside area with views around. I would recommend and return.

  10. Stephen

Our stay in beautiful Swaledale was greatly enhanced by the accommodation we found in Rose Cottage. It is cosy, warm, extremely well equipped and very clean. We could not have wanted a better place to stay for our short break and will not hesitate to revisit some time in the future. Thanks.
