Lovely visit to a fantastic part of the country. Loads of options for walks, and perfect for cycling (if you like hills!) The house suited our needs well. There were only two of us staying, but the bed we chose was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the shower was lovely, and the lounge had a huge sofa with accompanying huge blanket and huge TV! If you’re going in winter, don’t forget your slippers or thick socks as the downstairs rooms are all surfaced with flagstones that don’t heat up – they did look nice though! No shortage of activities in the area, so we’ve vowed to return soon.

  2. Ramesh

We had a very enjoyable stay at Thea’s cottage. A really comfortable place with plenty of space and pretty much all that is required for your time there. The location was great – walks from the doorstep and away from it all.

  3. Jeremy

A beautiful cottage in a very quiet location. Superb quality inside, very homely. Highly recommended !

  4. Heather

Loved the cottage . Very comfortable. Everything we could want..beautiful location.

  5. Patricia

Thea’s cottage is in a lovely location for walking and exploring Swaledale. The facilities are generally good and it is very clean with excellent linen and towels, though hob and oven are a challenge! On arrival the cottage was cold as all heating had been switched off – we think for some time – but it rapidly warmed up once we lit the stoves in the sitting room and kitchen. A lovely place for a holiday but do take logs and coal – and plenty food!

  6. Linda

Fabulous cottage, warm, bedrooms are beautiful, the patio out side is lovely,we used it last year
Because the weather was really nice, but unfortunately the sun didn’t want to come out this year
The kitchen has everything you need, and more .
This year we called into Hawes ,on our way to pick up kindling, and logs and coal .we carried it on our knees in the car ,as being four of us we didn’t have room in the boot to put it .
But it would be helpful if the cottage could supply it .just an idea really ,
But a fabulous place to spend time with great friends.
Barnard castle is a great place to shop ,thank for letting us stay at the cottage .
