Location

Reeth

The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

Fabulous cottage, spotlessly clean. Ideal location for hiking in the dales. Hannah was extremely helpful in recommending local walks & pubs & enabling an earlier check in. Unfortunately cottage does not have allocated parking & parking was a bit of a challenge at times especially on market day! We would also suggest that a welcome hamper might be nice on arrival just for essentials, milk/tea/coffee. However wood was provided for the wood burning fire & the whole cottage was cosy & comfortable. Would highly recommend.

  2. Stan

We had a lovely family stay in Reeth. We were not blessed with great weather, but the comfort of the cottage made up for that. All amenities were available and in great condition. We were not too successful in keeping the log burner alight for long, but probably due to lack of any breeze to provide a draw up the flue. Orherwise all great and would hope to revisit in the future.

  3. Dave

Lovely cottage- cosy, immaculate, great location, beautiful views out the back- nothing not to like

  4. Mark

Had a great stay in Reeth. Have stayed here many times and in lots of different cottages. This was amongst the best. Warm, cosy, clean and well situated for a great stay. Thank you.

  5. Joe

The cottage was clean, spacious and quiet. It was well located near the village green which had a good pub offering gluten free options. Also well located for exploring the Dales.

  6. David

Excellent place to stay. Very clean, easy access.well furnished cottage. Location in the village was great, near to pubs, shop etc.

  7. Dalesmoor

We had a lovely break in this immaculate and well equipped cottage.

  8. Louise

The delightful cottage is situated in a peaceful, picturesque village. The cottage is of high quality, bed is very comfortable and all the amenities for a comfortable stay, it is a home away from home. The view from the kitchen window is to die for. The instructions to gain access to the cottage made it seamless. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend in a heartbeat. The Two Dales Bakery in the village is worth a visit, great food and friendly staff. Campbell@ Supermarket in Leyburn is a great place to buy your provisions and the in house butcher provides delicious ready to cook meals.

  9. Tim

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first was my wife and I. This stay we invited friends and the property is perfect for two couples with plenty of space to east, drink and relax both in the property and at the front and rear. The property is absolutely spotless The weather was super hot and it was great to get back to the property and with the thickness of the old walls for it to be so cool. A great bonus. There are some great walks from the front door and also fantastic places to visit. Far more than you can visit on a single week in Reeth. We will definitely return again and stay at Dalesmoor.

  10. Jason

What a perfect place to get away to! we had such a great time and loved the cottage!!!

  11. Matt

We had a great week in the Dalesmoor cottage in Reeth. The cottage is home from home and had everything we needed, clean and very well equipped and spacious. Reeth is beautiful and has many local walks from the doorstep.

  12. Angela

Such a beautiful cottage, so spacious and has everything you need. Location is excellent for some lovely walks. Was so cozy at night with the log burner. Reeth was so lovely. Would 100% recommend.

  13. Philip

We had a really great stay at this cottage. We love Reeth and to have our own private cottage to stay in was fantastic. The living room with log burning fire is really nice after a cold blustery walk in Swaledale. The cottage was spotless and decor was well maintained, with has all the facilities needed for a great stay.

  14. Melanie

We spent 4nights here, exploring swaledale in the rain. It was always lovely to come back to our cozy, warm cottage. We played trivial pursuit from the selection of games provided. The Reeth pubs all serve good food and it’s worth booking a table as they fill up in the evenings. We cooked breakfast in the kitchen with the most gorgeous view in Reeth. Thank you for a lovely holiday !

  15. David

  16. Ian

Delightful holiday cottage excellent facilities, beautiful view in a lovely village.

  17. Marion

My husband and I have had 3 wonderful holidays at Dalesmoor. It is beautifully fitted out to a very high standard and is so peaceful and far away from the stresses of life. The kitchen wants for nothing, and I am having a similar amazing corner cupboard pull out unit, fitted in my own home!!
I keep thinking that I would love to book it for Christmas as it would be so cosy with 2 log fires!
The cottage wants for nothing, and the village is beautiful. Well stocked village shop is close by as are the paper shop and bakery.
We do not tend to eat in the village but there are plenty of other great pubs in nearby villages, especially the Punch Bowl Inn at Low Row.
A real gem of a hideaway and cannot wait to return.
It is not for visitors who have any mobility issues however.

  18. Linda

Pretty little cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Ideal for walkers and people wanting to relax and unwind. Though quite busy on village green, plenty of parking and quiet at night. Scenery stunning.

  25. Tim

This is a fantastic property. Spotless inside and a great location. The kitchen is very well stocked with quality crockery and glassware. Located right in the heart of Reeth the general store and three pubs are all within a 5 minute walk. We will definitely return to this outstanding property.

  26. Morag, Tom, Jemma and Pete

We all enjoyed our stay in Brenda’s lovely, cosy and homely cottage. We had everything we needed to make our holiday just perfect. The location is ideal and although the weather was not great, it did not stop us exploring the beautiful Dales and surrounding villages. I would high recommend Dalesmoor Cottage and would love to come back again in the future. Thank you Brenda for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

  29. Tracy Thompson

Great location in Reeth village with its 3 pubs. Charming cottage, located down a quiet cobbled lane, just off of the village green. Fab walks from the door. Would definitely recommend.

  30. Claudia

We loved Dalesmoor. A beautifully appointed and cosy cottage in beautiful Reeth. Tucked down a side lane it was peaceful and secluded with an amazing view from the kitchen window.
The house is to a very high standard and the kitchen is very well equipped. We loved the log fire in the cosy living room.

  31. Sarah

Dalesmoor is a lovely, cosy cottage in a quiet, peaceful area. The views of Fremington Edge are great to wake up to. The cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is a nice terrace at the back and bench at the front if you want to sit out. The area is great for walking and there are lots of good pubs and eateries nearby. We have stayed in the area several times and this is our first time at Dalesmoor which is our best find so far – and good value. Relaxing, comfortable and wonderful views – what more could you ask for.

  32. Alan

Beautiful comfortable clean well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Beautiful view from the patio to sit in the morning with a coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Kitchen equipped with everything you’d need if cooking though with Reeths abundance of pubs and tea rooms you never need to cook. Nice spacious sitting room and seperate dinning room. Nice having a bath room downstairs as well as the en suite in the double room. Could imagine being in there in the winter with the log burner going. Was an excellent find.

  33. Noel & Clare, Sheffield

We’ve had a wonderful stay here and are going home happy. I would like to also go home with the church pew, but it won’t fit in the car! We would definitely stay here again, everything was great!

  34. Mitchel & Courtney, Suffolk

What a spectacular cottage! Perfect location for walks, pubs, ice cream, scenery and tourists. Cosy, warm cottage just like home. Fantastic to see where we walked along Fremington edge towards end of Marrick Priory circular walk. A perfect stay for our first holiday together. Can’t wait to explore more of the dales as the year goes by.

  35. Heather & Daniel, Morpeth

We absolutely loved our time at Dalesmoor. We are all very envious of your lovely kitchen and will carry images of your kitchen view for ages. Everything is so well thought out and beautifully appointed that we thoroughly enjoyed our time together over meals and our quiet times spread out in various rooms. Our walks were wonderful and we look forward to returning. Thanks so much.

  44. Elaine

The owners couldnt have been more helpful and friendly. The cottage was immaculate and very cosy, especially the two duel burning fires. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable.
We would definately reccommend this cottage and hopefully will be returning to do some of the beautiful walks from the doorstep.

  45. Kay

I booked the cottage very last minute and was lucky it was available. The cottage was absolutely as described and one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. I spoke directly to the owner after booking via the agent and Brenda was extremely helpful. She has made the cottage very homely and it’s superbly equipped and with lovely touches. Perfect location for walking from the door or easy to get to other parts of Swaledale and Wensleydale by car (as well as Richmond and Durham). Lovely friendly village/small town. Thank you!

  46. Matt Hutchinson

This cottage in Reeth is probably the best holiday cottage I’ve ever rented. It’s a stone’s throw from the heart of the village, impeccably clean, really well equipped and very hard to fault!
Slightly hard to book, as the agent letting the property wasn’t great at getting back to me, but well worth the extra effort it took.
If you’re looking for a North Dales hideaway, don’t look any further, it’s brilliant!
