We are so lucky to live and work where we do, and we know how much some of you have missed visiting and adventuring here!

We can’t wait to share it with you all again now the lockdown restrictions are gradually lifting. Our first guests arrived in the cottages Monday 12^th April. Swaledale is buzzing again with old and new guests to the area.

We were asked today, by a couple who have not been to the area before if we knew any local walks…simple answer YES!! There aren’t many footpaths in Swaledale we haven’t walked!

From this conversation It occurred to us that many people booking into the cottages this year are going to be new guests to the area and probably won’t know where to walk (well, without researching anyway!).

So, to help those in a similar boat we have uploaded a number of walks in and around Swaledale on to our website.

We also realise that perhaps some people may not know how to plan a safe walk and perhaps lack confidence in venturing into the fells.

We know this feeling! So, we have put together a short blog on how to plan a walk and what Ordinance Survey Maps you might need to help you plan your own, safe, walk or adventure in the Yorkshire Dales.
