Nidderdale Museum
Pateley Bridge’s lead mining and rural history is on show in the award winning Nidderdale Museum. The Nidderdale Museum is set up in what was once a Victorian workhouse, which in itself reeks with history. History lovers will be in awe at the fascinating exhibits that tell the story of the harsh but beautiful Dales life. The exhibits include a cobbler’s shop, general store, school room, Victorian parlour, chemists and joiners.
The Pateley Bridge Butchers
We are huge fans of Kendall’s Farm Butchers and frequent the Harrogate shop regularly. Those visiting Pateley are in for a treat as Pateley Bridge is home to the original shop. As you’re in Yorkshire it would be rude not to treat yourself to one of their beautiful pork pies…we’d recommend the pork pie with stuffing, yum! Nip across the street after to the oldest sweet shop in England for some traditional Yorkshire Mix.
