The easiest way to take in the highlights of Bedale is through the Bedale Heritage Trail. If you pop into the Tourist information centre you shall be able to pick up a leaflet. The Leaflet will guide you along the Heritage Trail to the blue plaques that detail the history of the point of interest and the interesting stories that define the history of it.
The Bedale Heritage Trail will start you at the Bedale Hall followed by Leech House, the railway station, the town and finally at the canal.

Bedale is filled with unique and interesting shops such as craft and antique shops for you to peruse. There is also a local butcher that is renowned in the area, a fantastic delicatessen, a bakery, a grocer and a gorgeous chocolate shop.
There is also a number of great café’s and pubs for lunch and dinner, most use local produce and meats for a hearty home cooked meal. The pubs also pride themselves on their locally brewed beers, and a trip to the Dales would not be complete without sampling at least one of the Yorkshire beers, which are some of the finest beers in the land.
The thriving Bedale Market is held weekly on a Tuesday on the cobbles which line the market place; the stalls include a fantastic fishmonger if you want a treat yourself for dinner.
