West Burton is in our opinion, and also that of many others, one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and possibly England.

West Burton
The Village of West Burton
West Burton is a gem in the Yorkshire Dales and is accessed via a one way loop road that leads into the village, so traffic is limited. The village itself surrounds an idyllic large village green with a shop, a pub and a fantastic butcher. There is no doubt that you’ll be hit by the overwhelming feeling of community spirit almost instantly as you wonder through the village.
Cauldron Falls at West Burton
Cauldron Falls is small but stunning waterfall tucked around the side of the village a short walk from the village green. This beautiful waterfall attracts visitor’s year upon year, especially after the artist JMW Turner captured it during his tour of the North of England.
Unfortunately many visitors miss the beauty of Cauldron Falls, as tend to go to the nearby Aysgarth Falls instead. Those that miss this stunning waterfall are sadly missing the highlight of all the waterfalls in the Yorkshire Dales. As you approach the falls you shall be hit with a wonderful smell of wild garlic which adds to the magic of this Cauldron Falls.
