Langthwaite

Langthwaite is one of the few villages in Arkengarthdale, North Yorkshire. It is also the largest and the main settlement in the dale and only 3 miles north of Reeth. The road leading to Langthwaite from Reeth is winding and unfenced, sheep roam freely and there are fantastic views of the rugged and wild landscape that is so defining of Arkengarthdale.

The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today.

At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit.

Gargrave

Gargrave is the largest village in the Craven District, and is situated 4 miles north west of the market town of Skipton on the A65 roughly 7 miles from Malham. Gargrave is a popular, picturesque village sitting on the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal, it is lucky enough to boast 5 village greens, beautiful Yorkshire stone buildings and a fantastic Ice Cream Parlour.

Ketlewell is a charming village situated at the junction of the main Wharf valley and the Coverhead Pass in Upper Wharfdale, North Yorkshire. It is located between the villages of Grassington to the south, Starbotton to the north west and Horsehouse to the east. Roughly, 15 miles north of Skipton and 14 miles from Bolton Abbey.

The pretty market town, Skipton, fondly known as ‘the gateway to the Dales’ is located on the River Aire on the south side of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in Lower Wharfdale. Skipton is one of the larger towns in North Yorkshire with the current population exceeding 16,000, which increases greatly during peak seasons as many tourists stop in Skipton on the way to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Masham

Masham is one of Yorkshires calmer market towns located on the banks of River Ure in Wensleydale. Masham is home to a rural working community with a truly charming olden day vibe that makes it a very popular spot for artists and authors, especially around the time of the Masham arts festival held every other year.

Knaresborough

Knaresborough in North Yorkshire is a historic market town situated on the River Nidd and only 4 miles from the centre of Harrogate.

Ripon

The City of Ripon set in the heart of North Yorkshire and is one of the fourth smallest cities in England. A very attractive tourist destination due to being only a stones through from a number of other tourist destination – Studley Royal Park, Fountains Abbey and Lightwater Valley.
