The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

Whilst you stroll along the river bank you can take in the stunning views of the rolling hills either side of you, which is stunning on a summers day! ...

Lovely cottage – beautifully renovated and thoughtfully appointed. Every comfort and a wonderful location for beautiful countryside and great walks from the doorstep. Would love to stay there again.
Diana –
The cottage was attractively decorated and furnished and was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The information handbook was comprehensive. It was very clean and well maintained and was also in a wonderful location with beautiful scenery all around it.The only downside was the bathroom and the lack of shower screen and wall mounted shower.
Ailsa –
A lovely, peaceful stay! House was very cosy and kitchen was well equipped
John –
Lovely place to stay. Especially if you love time away from touristy towns. Easy kitchen to prepare meals in, but need to bring your own ingredients as there is no immediate town to get supplies from. So if you love isolation and being able to meld into the countryside this is the place for your getaway. Totally loved our time in this spotlessly clean unit
Karen –
Property and location fantastic, lacks a little in comfort, a more comfortable seating area or at least some cushions and the wooden seat outside could also do with some comfortable cushions.Bathroom needs updating ,ie freestanding shower, and a small frying pan.Having said that we have had a fantastic week, so please dont take these comments as anything more than suggestions to make your property even more inviting.

Copley House is a lovely cottage in a quiet and stunning area. It was exactly what we needed for a short weekend break. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is a perfect place to relax with nice walks straight from the front door. Communication with the host was easy with prompt and clear responses. It was also nice to have the parking spot next to the cottage. Happy to recommend to others.
Timothy –
A lovely cottage, in a beautiful location. Exactly what we were looking for.
Sue –
We had a great stay again. Been going here for 8—10 years in a row now will b coming back again next year Spacious clean and safe is what you get here for a fair price. Owners are very nice and will help you with anything you need. Can’t say enough good things about our stay here
Russell –
We had a lovely six day stay. The downstairs of the cottage was great and the kitchen had everything we needed. A proper shower would have been nice, but we enjoyed the bath. A lovely stay!
Shahista –
Beautiful, clean cottage in stunning surroundings! Will be returning!
Antje –
A wonderful cottage just as described. Beautifully situated next to a beck with plenty of walks nearby. The cottage was well equipped, clean and spacious. We slept like logs in the most comfortable bed. Highly recommended
Donna –
The cottage was immaculate. Perfect place to relax with some nice walks. Wonderful friendly pub within a few feet of the cottage. You do need to take your own logs and coal etc, if you intend to use the log burner. Parking is for one small car. We had a larger car and had to use the local car park at £18 per week. It is very near to the cottage.
Jo –
A really lovely home. Beautiful location and friendly neighbours.
Donna –
The views from every window of the cottage we’re magical. The bath was deep and a fire was laid ready to strike a match. A beautiful, restful place for some respite. I took a blow up bed and extra bedding for my son as there was only one bed. I couldn’t get enough of the surrounding landscape and villages and look forward to a longer trip next time.
Peter –
All was as described, and as we hadn’t printed door access key code (oops), couldnt get in. Hannah responded immediately and all was fab once we stopped forgetting things (Us, NOT Hannah).
Evelyn –
A beautiful location. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable- with very comfortable beds. We enjoyed walks (there were maps helpfully provided by the cottage) from the front door, biking along the Swale Trail and the bakery & amenities in Reeth., as well as a meal out at the CB Inn down the road. There was a welcoming atmosphere and we hope to return. Thank you for a very enjoyable holiday.
Scott –
Beautiful countryside location with lots of walking right from the cottage. Nice pub right by the cottage and lots of things to go only a short drive away.
Elmar –
We stayed for a week and felt at home immediately. Everything was as described and the communication was easy and clear.
John –
Great host and the most beautiful cottage in the most beautiful setting. Perfect Bolthole in an incredible part of the dales. Could not recommend highly enough!!
Maggie –
Langthwaite is a perfect Dales village and Copley House , set beside the river, views to the bridge, and The Red Lion round the corner. So quiet. The house is airy, uncluttered, comfortable with a personal touch and with a well equipped kitchen. Not that we used it much. Up the road 10 minutes walk was CB Inn with local charm, history and good food. We chose Copley House partly because you could walk from the door. There are footpaths everywhere and (in June) lots of wildflowers and birds. Richmond is a must but don`t miss Reeth. It has an excellent little museum with an irresistible shop and over the green is the tourist information run by well informed volunteers (we found out about the sheep dog trials there – great!) We only had one sunny day but we had a wonderful time. The beauty and history of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale were really striking. Hannah was a friendly and efficient host, replying to requests promptly and usefully.
Lenka –
A good-sized, clean and well-equipped cottage, loved the fireplace! Walks straight from cottage, sound of stream flowing just next to the cottage was a plus.
Elizabeth –
Cosy cottage in a lovely location.
Paul –
Lovely cottage. Great spot by the beck. We warmed up the house with great central heating and coal fire and were very snug. The Red Lion is a joy. A pub with fine beer and a warm welcome. Walked over the tops to Swaledale – snow capped moors and incredible weather. Very lucky. All amenities good quality and well stocked.
Tom –
The cottage is beautifully positioned in the village. It is very comfortable and the stove is a real bonus on the colder evenings. Lovely walks from the door and a great launch pad to discover the rest of the dales.
Simon –
We had such a wonderful break staying at Copley House. The location was not only idyllic but also perfect for local walking and exploring. The house was warm and welcoming. Very well appointed with interesting books too.
Shauna –
Lovely village to stay in next to river. Lots of walks on the doorstep. Real village pub. ldeal place to tour the area from.
Ammar –
We had a pleasurable stay at cottage. The walks near by and overall location to access other areas of Dales by road were fantastic. The cottage itself was comfortable and the kitchen /lounge area was modern. The checkin process was seamless and their was informative material available within the cottage about Dales.
Hilary –
Best Air BnB we’ve stayed in so far. All excellent!
Theresa –
Amazing place. We will be back
Jennifer –
Very peaceful and quiet. Great place to visit the local area
Patrice –
The cottage we rented met our expectations. It is very cute, very clean, well arranged and well supplied (enough linens, dishes, utensils, appliances). That’s very valuable. The location is also very nice. The village is very cute and the surrounding scenery is beautiful!! Paradise for hikers. The Pub opposite is run by a lovely and welcoming lady. Go ahead! Only one downside: the total lack of mobile phone network in the village and its surroundings. I would have liked to have known that before booking. The owner told me when sending check-in instructions for check-in. I specify that there is still wifi in the house. In short, we had a lovely time there.
Helen –
Lovely property, lovely location. Character pub just steps away. Great walks and bike rides from the door. Cottages was excellent difficult shower over the bath if you are tall and a way to make a shower curtain/screen would improve use. Lots of kitchen equipment we could have done with smaller frying pan, baking tray and smaller saucepans. Front garden could have done with a being tided up. All small things overall a lovely stay and we would stay again.
Christian –
Very nice stay. Quiet surroundings , pleasant small village and stunning landscape.
Olivier –

Sean –
Had a great stay at the cottage, very easy place to stay in, kitchen was really well equipped which was great. Great location too with lots of great walks straight from the door. Good size, perfect for a family of 4.
Graham –
A very well equipped cottage ideal if you want a rural retreat. Close to the friendly Red Lion Inn.
The cottage was very warm and inviting the furnishings of high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you needed plus more. It was nice to have all the cleaning products provided to enable us to keep everything clean and tidy, this was a nice surprise. Thought had gone into the property and loved to find the sewing box in the lounge sideboard with glasses for any small mishaps. We would be happy to use this cottage again in future.
Jayne –
Everything was lovely, including the weather. We are familiar with the area as we have visited before quite often. It’s perfect for a get away from it all holiday, but there are 2 great pubs within very short walking distance, so that’s a bonus. The cottage is spotless with everything you need for a cosy stay Thank you, we hope to be back.
Michelle –
Fantastic property in a beautiful location.

Meredith –
Pleasant cottage in a nice location. Good base for a week in the Dales.
Alex –
Lovely cottage in walking distance to two pubs and plenty of walks straight out of the door – perfect!
Laura –
Copley House was wonderful, so clean and spacious enough for our family of four. The kitchen was spot on, the beds were comfy and the Red Lion was about a 30 second walk away (please not they don’t allow kids under 16 but did let us all in for a drink early doors). What a beautiful part of the world – I would highly recommend!
Claire –
Lovely cottage in a very scenic location. Very cosy with the log burner – we came in February and the weather was somewhat erratic but managed to have some good sunshine in between howling wind and rain! Good access for walks from the doorstep. The CB inn was a nice pub 20 minutes walk away (also one right opposite which we didn’t get to try). Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!
Chris and Katie –
Lovely cottage tucked away in the corner of a little Yorkshire village. Great location for exploring the Dales and a proper old pub just across the way. Perfect.
