The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

My partner and I had a lovely stay to see in the new year here. The accommodation is nestled in a beautiful little village which is extremely peaceful and friendly, not to mention the beautiful surroundings of the dales. The accommodation itself was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. A lovely open plan set up with space to breath and move around. Bedrooms were cosy and comfortable, with plenty of luggage space. The accommodation was very warm as well which was ideal for the time of year. A perfect home to come back to after a hike across the Dales. Parking was straightforward and easy enough. Overall, highly recommend.

It was an absolutely perfect stay. The home itself was situated in a mesmerising, breathtaking location right next to the river, whilst being part of a chocolate-box village that included a stone bridge, a quiet pub, winding lanes and scenic stone cottages. The views from every window were awe-inspiring and the raw beauty of the rugged countryside were on the doorstep. It was nature at its very best. From the rolling green hills to the sweeping valleys, from the ancient trees to the stone walls, every glance was a blessing to behold: it was nature’s best medicine. The cottage itself was also extremely comfortable, well-equipped, warm and cosy. It was modern where it needed to be whilst still retaining its historical charm and heart. It was the ideal accommodation for a relaxing few days away. Copley House is the perfect escape in a rural heaven.
