The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. The cottage was well situated and we could walk and bike out into the countryside from it. There are 2 pubs in the village. There were 3 of us and so had plenty or room and the outside area was a bonus to have
