LOCATION

Reeth

Reeth

The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

Stony Thwaite is a wonderful modern cottage to stay in. Right in the heart of the Dales. Everything impeccably clean and very well looked after. I heartily recommend this as a place to stay.

  3. Emma

A beautiful cottage with a wonderful view from the front window. Our student daughter spent her time working at the desk and we went on fantastic walks straight out of the village. The cottage itself is well stocked with books and maps so you can plan walks and trips out, and is within just a few minutes of some lovely pubs and bakeries. It was a perfect base for our trip – thank you so much!

  7. Philip

This was the third property on our latest air bnb holiday. It was by far the nicest we visited. The property is in private ownership and immediately feels homely and welcoming. It did get a bit cold in the evenings (sept)but the heating system coped well. The views particularly from the front are stunning. The bike storage was useful. Leaving some biscuits, milk etc was a nice touch. All the instructions were comprehensive with some tips from the owners. Reeth is a charming village with all you need and with access to the local area with some nice walks , some challenging. Would consider returning

  8. Shan

Excellent location. Views from the room windows are worth waking upto every morning. Its well located in a quintessentially Yorkshire dales village. For a small place like Reeth, it has quite a lot going for it. Ice cream parlour, 3 pubs and a lovely bakery ( two dales, Cardamom swirls are really amazing there).
