Sykelands cottage is a fabulous stone barn conversion, positioned within the grounds of a non-working farm, overlooking beautiful, rolling, farmland on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This dales holiday cottage is only one mile from the pretty village of Dalton and two miles from the picturesque village of Ravensworth.
This property has recently been tastefully renovated with no expense spared to provide a truly fantastic Yorkshire Dales Cottage. The owners have cleverly introduced modern conveniences such as eco-friendly underfloor heating and Wi-Fi whilst retaining original features such as the original beamed A-frames visible in the exposed ceiling.
This holiday cottage has been furnished to a very high standard throughout and is the perfect romantic getaway. The accommodation is across one level and the use of space has been well thought out. The living area incorporates a social open plan layout with a kitchen, dining area and luxurious sitting area. The bedroom is spacious featuring a super king bed and contemporary en-suite with his and her vanity units.
The cottage also benefits from a private patio with garden furniture – an ideal place to kick start your day with a mug of coffee overlooking the grounds and farmland beyond. The patio is also home to your private hot tub, a place to unwind after a busy day exploring.
Sykelands is ideally positioned for those wishing to explore the area. The market towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle are only a short drive and offer a number of pubs, restaurants and shops as well as popular weekly markets and tourist attractions such as castles, museums and theatre. If you are a keen walker, there are plenty of routes for all abilities in the area from walks in the dales steeped with history of the infamous lead mining industry, to beautiful walks in Durham. If you fancy a longer drive then the Lakes offer challenging hikes and mountainous scenery.
There is a wonderful local pub in Ravensworth which can be accessed across the open fields to enjoy a tipple or two.
If you need further accommodation Mill Cottage is the neighbouring cottage and sleeps 2 with an additional single sofa bed. Together they can sleep four in two super king beds plus additional 2 on single sofa beds.
To ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible all kitchen linen, bed linen and towels are provided. The electric, central heating and logs for the open fire are also included in the rental price.
