The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

We’ve just had a 2 night stay in Dinmore its such a lovely cottage, definitely enough room for a couple, the lounge is comfortable, the bathroom has a great bath for relaxing in with lots of hot water and the bedroom is very peaceful with a view of the hills. The village has a useful shop/post office and there is a choice of eateries and a coffee/ ice cream shop which I can recommend. We had a walk straight from the cottage and a run over to Wendysdale . The communication between myself and the owner was clear and concise. A real gem!!!

  2. Sharon

Dinmore cottage is an absolute gem, well thought out, equipped to a high standard, lovely place to relax after a walk or a visit to the local pub. Dinmore has a lovely feel to it and sits just off the main square in Reeth, just a few minutes from cafes, pubs, tourist information and the shops. The views are amazing, Sunday morning with a coffee in bed watching the weather change over Harkerside was a real treat.

Would highly recommend Dinmore for a holiday in North Yorkshire.

  3. Carrie

Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon in this gorgeous cosy little cottage, perfect for a quiet little get away and the local pub meals are top quality, especially ‘the kings arms’! We were looked after very well there and made to feel so welcome! Plus the food and prices were fantastic!.. Lovely village and scenery for walking around too and loved how even the cafes and local shops were pretty much on your doorstep!.. A little haven of peace and tranquillity and highly recommended!! ??

  4. Rachael

We really enjoyed our stay at Dinmore. The cottage was perfectly located for exploring Swaledale and the area immediately around Reeth, with walks from the front door. Would definitely recommend the Punchbowl in Low Row for a really tasty dinner. The cottage was really well equipped, and Gareth and Jo were helpful when we had questions. We occasionally found the cottage a little chilly (though that might be our poor fire lighting skills), and the kitchen isn’t well heated, so would definitely recommend some slippers! A lovely spot for a few days exploring the Dales!

  5. Bridget

Had an amazing time in Reeth. The cottage was perfect in every way and just what I needed during my trip to the UK from Vancouver, Canada. Weather was beautiful, cold, sunshine and blue skies. Lots of walks and exploring. Slept really well and felt very safe. Will definitely return. Many thanks to the hosts.

  6. Mary

We wanted to escape from our inner city home. I come from a rural setting and that was what I was searching for. Everything was clean clear and the village was a dream. Could have opted for long romantic walks but the meals and afternoon teas where my best memories

  7. James

Everything you needed was in the cottage. Very clean. Even has washing machine.. comfy bed. Cottage is situated in a lovely quiet area in the village. I would recommend the meals in the Kings Arms

  8. Shaun

My wife and I only stayed for 2 nights but it felt like a week! We had such a lovely relaxing break and we’re so sad to have to leave. The cottage is so full of character yet perfectly equipped with the mod cons you need. The fire was a real treat too! We did a brilliant walk from the door upto Calver Hill and were even blessed with sunnny warm weather…not bad for November! Thanks again and we will definitely hope to return soon.

  9. Heather

Wonderful break in Reeth at Dinmore cottage. Spotless accommodation very comfortable and well kitted out. Many beautiful walks on the doorstep. Jo sent messages to ensure everything was ok and left some very nice provisions. We hope to return.

  14. Anthony

Located just off the village green and within staggering distance of the three welcoming pubs, this is a charismatic, quaint property well equipped despite its small size an ideal romantic getaway. Door frames are a little low if like me your over six foot but you soon remember to duck at the right moment. Lovely views and some great walks to be had with reeth as a starting

  16. Jane

This was our 2nd visit and we loved it just as much as the first visit. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. A true home away from home. Gareth and jo are very easy to communicate with and very quick to respond. Absolutely love this cottage.

We came to Reeth for a 3 night break between Christmas & new year.
We chose dinmore cottage because of its location & fantastic reviews,it was everything we expected.
The welcome pack was a lovely touch & the Christmas decorations made it feel like being at home.
There’s so much to do even this time of year, the weather was good so we got out & about, plenty of walks, pubs for lunch/dinner or just a drink after a long walk.
We’ve had a lovely relaxing stay & would definitely return to dinmore cottage in the future.

  24. Robert

A really easy booking experience, how nice to have the owners contact you personal. A beautiful cottage and village, wonderful walks from the doorstep (even in the rain ) hope to return.

  25. Jenny

The cottage was extremely well equipped and tastefully refurbished to a high standard. All the fixtures and fittings were new and all needs seem to have been thought about. All the pots and pans, crockery etc in the kitchen were new and there was a good quality washer-dryer which was useful, given the weather. The bouquet of flowers, loaf of bread, butter and milk which greeted us upon arrival were very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

  26. David

  32. Neil

We had a great stay, cottage just as described, excellent. Great walks from the doorstep and friendly pubs close for a pint and decent honest pub grub. Cottage kitchen great for cooking and eating in as well. The local market on Fridays had super stalls for meat, veg, cheese and fish. Super

  33. Janet

Cute, clean and comfortable cottage. Right in the middle of Reeth so handy for wonderful walks straight from the door and evening drinks in one of the traditional pubs

  34. Jane

This was our first visit to Reeth and Dinmore cottage. The cottage is beautiful and the perfect accommodation for 2 people looking to relax and explore the Yorkshire Dales. Gareth & Jo were a pleasure to deal with and check in / out was very easy. We will definitely be going back.

  35. Barry G

Excellent property, very comfortable, all the mod cons for the today’s gadgets. We appreciated the welcome pack and general info of the area. Reeth lovey place to stay.

  36. Robert P

Just what we needed for our first visit to Swaledale. Cottage lovely, clean, comfortable, warm and with all the facilities that we needed. We recommend it for either a few days mini break or longer stay.

  37. Naomi G

A lovely quaint traditional stone cosy cottage, welcome basket on arrival and made to feel at home.

  38. Judith B

    Loved the cottage, very welcoming.
We had a very busy time so I didn’t get to have 2 fires, but loved being inside and cosy when it was freezing outside.
The cold water in the kitchen wasn’t working when I got home, but all other taps worked ok so not much of a concern.

  39. Roy W

A very comfortable cottage, very well equipped. A sensible welcome pack, including gladioli which opened to glorious colour.
Not a criticism but a thought for consideration – the lower stairs have no handrail, an 86 year old found this a disadvantage!
Nevertheless our stay was a pleasure.

  40. Jean M

We both enjoyed our stay in Reeth. We are very familiar with the Yorkshire Dales and have camped and stayed in many places but we have never used a cottage before and this was a great introduction. The weather was good, ideal for walking and out on the motorcycle. We also had another fantastic day at Muker Show.

  44. Lizi T

Very well equipped, clean and quiet. Lovely welcome pack including the best bread and butter ever!! Well located with the picturesque village green on the doorstep with easy access to good local walks. Only just lost the 5th star due to the slight discomfort of the sofa and the hard pillows. Still would highly recommend!

Dinmore was all we wanted and expected it to be and far more!
The cottage was well equipped, warm and cosy (much needed in the snow we had during our brief stay). Reeth is a very friendly village within the very beautiful area of Swaledale and the surrounding Dales.
Parking space was not a problem and the welcome pack and cottage info provided was much appreciated.
We would be very happy to stay there again and intend to do just that.
    Martin & Jo.
