Langthwaite

Langthwaite is one of the few villages in Arkengarthdale, North Yorkshire. It is also the largest and the main settlement in the dale and only 3 miles north of Reeth. This property is in a great loacation in the north Yorkshire Dales. It punches way above it’s weight. Hannah is fantastic. The lounge and bedroom are large rooms. The kitchen and the bathroom have been recently renovated ans they have everything you could need. The kitchen has a whole selection of herbs and spices and a nice welcome pack including bread and milk was a nice touch. Outside the front is a lovely secluded (sun trap) area, which has a table and chairs. The bed is king size and is super comfortable. The Red Lion pub is a few yards away, but be mindful is does not serve food. However the CB Inn (Charles Bathurst) is just a ten minute walk and it serves good food, wine and beer. The Sunday roast is recommended. The Dales are a delight, with many lovely places to visit. Our favourites were Reeth, Hawes wjich had the Wendsleydale creamery and cheese visitor centre. Just out side of Reeth is the Dales Bike centre and that has a great cafe, serviing good lunches and great cakes.

  2. Matilda

Beautiful home. Clean, comfortable and lovely decor. Had all you needed for a lovely stay. Would highly recommend!

  3. Cheryl

We absolutely loved our stay at Ivy cottage! The cottage was well above and beyond our expectation. It was a getaway in country paradise.

  4. Richard

Book this cottage, seriously!! We could ramble on about how amazing this place is, but words are not enough! It is so beautiful, peaceful and the locals are so friendly. Have you booked yet? The walks in the area are vast, and the villages surrounding the area are amazing with all the little shops to visit. Why have you not booked yet? The cottage…where do we start?! What a beautiful place, clean, peaceful, homely and the hosts have thought of EVERYTHING!! Seriously, why are you still reading this and not booking?!?!?!?! We have stopped in many places but this, by far is the BEST!!! We will definitely be visiting again as there are lots more things to do and see…..so book it now before we do!!!!!

  5. Jamie

Very impressed with Ivy Cottage! The perfect size for a couple. Beautiful surroundings. We had a walk (7km) to Reeth following the river which was ‘Yorkshire flat’. Leyburn & Richmond are easy to get to if you want a day out in town. We ate in 2/3 nights which is easy in the kitchen with everything you need. We are out at the CB inn as recommended, fairly pricey but really good. Nice for a treat. Would definitely go back!

  6. Neil

Lovely cottage that has been very well equipped and decorated. Very quiet village with lots of walks direct from the door.
