The history of Reeth dates way back to the 18th Century, where it used to be the capital of the lead mining industry and a local centre for hand knitting, with a population of 1,460. However, the area has evolved into the centre of the beautiful farming community that we see today. At the heart of Reeth is a triangular green, surrounded by the local community, pubs, teas rooms, restaurant and gift shops. Beyond the immediate surrounds the village is overlooked by the stunning fells of Fremington Edge and Calver Hill which we can guarantee will provide a stunning backdrop to your visit. ...

Instructions on how to find the cottage and all other communications was excellent. The cottage is located in a very peaceful, private and extremely quiete rural location. We were blown away at the effort that was put in with regards to the Xmas decorations. A lot of thought has gone into this newly refurbished cottage . The cottage was very clean, well equipped and is obviously in a top notch condition. The views from the cottage are delightful and the setting, without repeating myself, is just wonderful. We can highly recommend this cottage.
We absolutely cannot wait to return. Our fifth visit to the Dale’s, but by far our best.
Absolutely superb!

What a privilege to stay at Rubbing House as the first guests. Beautifully decorated, loved the art work and equipment with everything needed for a comfortable stay even with Storm Benjamin raging outside! We have had the most wonderful stay enjoying the Dals and returning to this cosy retreat and roaring fire. Thank you and wishing you well.
